Kerbside Recycling Collection
Porirua City Council operates a kerbside collection of recyclables in Titahi Bay on Mondays. Recyclable items can be collected in various holders including crates, bags or cardboard cartons.
Items that can be recycled include clean paper, cardboard, unbroken glass, empty and clean aluminium, steel and paint cans and clean household hard plastics numbered 1-7.
Rubbish that cannot be recycled includes broken glass, contaminated packaging, silver foil including food trays, aerosol cans, chippie and ice cream packets and polystyrene (you can take polystyrene to Poly Palace on Broken Hill Road, opposite Trash Palace).
A door collection service is available for people with limited mobility due to disability or impairment. Contact Porirua City Council to register for this service.
