Transport
Bus
Titahi Bay is serviced by two Metlink bus routes:
Route 210 - Porirua (Railway Station) to Titahi Bay (Pikarere St). This services the south-western end of Titahi Bay. See the latest timetable here.
Route 220 - Ascot Park - Porirua (Railway Station) - Titahi Bay (Gloaming Hill). This services the north-eastern end of Titahi Bay. See the latest timetable here.
Buses usually arrive at the station shortly before a Wellington-bound train is due, but not every train into Porirua coincides with a bus.
Train
Titahi Bay's nearest train station is Porirua, which is on the Kapiti Line (Wellington to Waikanae). Trains run every day. See the latest timetable here.
The trip between Wellington and Porirua takes about 20 minutes.
Bicycles can be carried on some services, with some restrictions especially at peak times. There's a few bicycle racks (free) and lockers (paid) at the station.
There is a large Park-and-Ride parking area at the station, but the closer spaces fill up with commuters early in the day. You could have a 5-8 minute walk, with no shelter if it's raining.
Taxis
There is a taxi stand outside New World Porirua, a short walk from the station. Outside peak hours it is likely to be more reliable to order a taxi by phone rather than wait for one to come by.
Porirua Taxis (04) 237-6099. 0800 237 6099
Uber is also available.
